Welcome to the Reformation
I had such a great time with this character. I was asked to play a banite six years ago and it has been sitting on my ‘to play’ list till Kay. I wanted to do a different sort of banite; a righteous crusade, pious and endlessly loyal rather than so very evil and power hungry. Lawful was the name of the game and you all helped me make the story I wanted. Thank you.
Banites-
Pelagius Castillian: I couldn’t have been luckier to have Peggy take in my former convict. He had such hope around him and taught her how to care. I couldn’t see her turning into half the banite she was without his teaching and preaching.
Ann Thrule: Ann is amazing. She took the very strict elf and showed her its alright to be yourself. Half the allies, friends and storylines that came later could never have been possible without Ann’s guiding hand.
Rosenkranz Ezekiel: I absolutely adore this character. He pushed Kay into full knighthood with his endless help, prayers, confessions and general comradery. I never expected banites to be this much of a family but I was happily proven wrong.
Asmat Mereri Shajar: Agh! I love and miss this banite. She really was the first taste of family Kay got to have. Their early adventures strengthened my elf’s sense of loyalty to the point where it even confused the other banites. Thank you for the beautiful time.
Wolfkin Cloudthunder: Wolfkin gets a lot of flak but I really love to play with him. He and Kay were two peas in a pod. Both eager to conform and work hard and honor their kin. Without his help, she would never have become the model banite.
Ung: It was sad that we only had this banite for a short while but his influence was immeasurable. This soft spoken, silver tongued orc was the sole reason Kay ever bothered to make friends.
Elves-
Anduil Belioanior: These two had a rocky start but they ended by being friends. I loved their endless arguing even when they were agreeing. Anduil really pushed her to be social and learn about her heritage. Without his help, the story would have been so much darker.
Elcion Co'vakel: I can’t say enough good things about this elf. If she had met him first, he may have succeeded in his attempts to take her from the dark side. Instead all his attempts only showed her how to be a better banite and thank you for that. He is funny and patient and endlessly forgiving. Their ending was sad but I was glad they got to share a story.
Lathil'ahal N'landorshien: Good grief, I love this character. He is a joy to be around and always eager to bend his character to fit the story.
Maeralya Nithroel: I love this character so much. I always leave space open for the story to change; for the good guys or the bad guys to win but Mae stuck to her gonnes every time they met and made sure the good guys didn’t stand a chance. I love that. I love it when a character isn’t afraid to stab another in the heart (repeatedly) in spite of popular opinion. From the first meeting, it was downhill and it was beautiful.
Omev/Froggie: If ever I could pick a more perfect contrast to Kay it would have to be Froggie. They constantly push and poke each other till they are both confused about the others motives and presence. It was great fun.
Sencliffians-
Roland Asen: I love this character but there isn’t a soul Kay hated more than this vile wizard. From day one, she had been trying to push him out of favour (poorly) or get him killed or have him killed. He is offensive and just plain awful. <3
Toad Mcbanner: Yet another character Kay didn’t like; the liar. Toad was so much like the person she was trying to leave behind that she never passed up the chance to poke him in the eye verbally. I loved the back and forth. If it was a different lifetime they might have been hustlers together.
Lucia Malveaux: I love Crazy Lucia. Before her (very exaggerated death), the two of them never seemed to even try to get along with all the endless jabs and seething hate. It was too funny. Lucia might have beat Roland as most hated if they kept company.
Naturewalkers-
Clara Ders: Everyone needs a best friend. I really wasn’t expecting to open up the nature storyline but Clara made it easy. I love characters that don’t back down from a conflict and Clara is a great warrior druid. I hope to see where her story ends up in the future.
Orion Stormwood: Without Orion, Kay would never have learned to hate rangers as lazy divas. I loved the conflict between these two. They seemed to disagree just to spite the other. It was lovely.
Labriales: Kay had such a love-hate relationship with Lab. He was all bad and yet he put the work in. She was always so conflicted about him that he even sent her to confession a few times. I love such powerful personalities like Labriales.
Tur’gen Turquoise: Its sad that they got so little time together but he imparted so much wisdom in so little time that it past on years later. Thank you.
Hin-
Aphia: She is so super cute. She brought out the old lady in my (very old) elf and it made for some hilarious favoritism. I will miss their relationship.
Otis Trickfoot: Goodness, I love Otis. He is the perfect hin and really helped turn Kay into a more polite and helpful Knight. He is utterly delightful.
Miri Trickfoot: Miri is such an amazingly calm diplomat that she often left Kay thinking “How would Miri handle this?” She provided a wonderful non-banite perspective for things. It was very refreshing.
Other-
Warryn Libbon: He provided a beautiful example that you are the company you keep. He pushed Kay to abandon promoters of Chaos and hunt down troublemakers. Without his unlawfulness that day at Stonehold, things would have been so much harder.
Trockard EarthBound: These two were just on the cusp of friends. They were always so suspicious that they agreed on almost everything that they never seemed to get past that. Even so, they were old and tired together and it provided some much needed camaraderie.
Marlin: The sober companion! Without him, she would have been in confession much much more (that’s saying something since she was in confession a good deal). He taught her discipline and how to overcome her magical blood. It was lovely.

Special Kudos-
Guldorand: The war was beautiful and I enjoyed the entire event terribly. Thank you all for not backing down.
The Devs: I have been such an incredible pest on this character and yet you’ve been nothing but patient and helpful with me. Thank you. You really made Minmir feel like a home.
The Good Guys: Although I rarely got to directly play with the good guys they provided so much rp from their various schemes. They were like the monster under the bed; not visible but influential.
The Dms: You guys all did such a great job. I’ve never been in so many beautifully executed events before. Thank you for all the personal and public conflict.
The Tempurian: I’ve never quiet been trashed so thoroughly in a fight. You caught me way off guard. I love it when fights are taken seriously and everyone plays as dirty as is needed to stay alive. Thank you for a Knight’s death.

Re: Welcome to the Reformation

I really enjoyed roleplaying with Kay, even though it wasn't as often as I wanted. She was snarky and sassy and wonderful.
Enjoy your next toon!

Re: Welcome to the Reformation
RIght back at you with kudos. Kay was a great char. I really liked Wolfkin's conversations with her. He respected her a lot, though did not necessarily always agree.
Re: Welcome to the Reformation
Great character, as always. Shame we didn't get to interact more. )-: Looking forward to the next character!
Re: Welcome to the Reformation
Kay was great to rp and wander with, she made me want to convert and start Bane's druidic circle. If she is gone I had a lot of fun rping with her.

Re: Welcome to the Reformation
Oh look. Big elf tripped and trod on a sword! Hah! Should have figured some nicer hobbies. Like a personality!
no but Lucia snark aside ugh why did she need to die. Our hate was so much fun. I'm so sorry I never got to hunt her down after poking my head out of any false graves, I just trusted we'd run into each other eventually.
You will be sorely missed! Kaylessa was one of the quintessential Banites, and its a tremendous loss for the Church, the server, and all the folks who knew her!

Done.
Re: Welcome to the Reformation
Kaylessa was, in my experience with her, the definitive Banite. Absolutely excellent.
