Int actually isn't super important for a paladin. Cha/srt are the big ones, Wisdom (14) for spells.
I ran a hin pally/CoT that did very well with a low (12) int score. A human with 10 is about the same.
The biggest part of his success was having a level 1 spell slot on everything he could get it on. Divine Favour for days.

I think my Pal was only int 10... maybe 12 (Although he was more of a champion of torm/cleric than pure Pal... (P6/C12/CoT12 maybe? - it's been a while) but went for the str/cha route for crazy high saves (didn't care about dragons wing buffet. Ever.) and divine might/shield for extra protection/damage.
