People grind because they want to reach whatever level they feel their build comes into its own in. Thats understandable as a character who might be ignored/pushed around/excluded at lower levels, is less so at higher levels.

Levels (and gold, and gear two other things grinding offers) are all too often what give a character agency, and increased, meaningful involvement (Though not always, exceptions abound after all, on a server as large as Arelith) so it is hardly a surprise, or wrong for a player to try to obtain them as fast as possible.

When another form of activity is a passable means to obtain levels at a satisfactory pace, people will do that. Leveling for many is not hard, just boring, and making the process more frustrating is likely to yield more then boredom, and frustration.

If there are people that are genuinely grinding to such an extent that it has an adverse effect on the server as a whole, best they be dealt with as individuals, instead of applying restrictions on everyone.

Please don’t take my harmless fun away, just because you don’t agree with it.

I understand the sentiment, but have always felt people should be free to play how they wish to, so long as it isn't impacting the fun of others. We all have different times to play, and patterns, and I try not to concern myself with what others are doing.

We won't be putting any kind of cap on monster XP, or enforcing slow 'grind' levelling.

I would only say - Arelith is huge, you'll probably get more enjoyment out of the game, and your character by taking it slowly and seeing what the world has to offer. Visit 100 dungeons on your way to epic levels, rather than circling the same 3.

Beyond that? Well I'm locking this topic, because no amout of discussion will have me curtail the grind.
