Shadow shield, premonition and energy buffer are self-cast spells that you should always have on yourself.
Mind blank, protection from spells, see invisibility, ultravision and improved invisibility is something that you should try to share with others, improved invisibility especially for the frontliners. It makes a massive difference.
Your job is to keep the party perma hasted. It's not very engaging or fun at times but that's what mages in PvE do.
I used to imagine that the PCs are my summons and it removes the monotony a little bit. You also get more time for roleplay than your melee fellows.

Sure. So I'll pass on the CL, EASILY. Its a ranger, not a cleric. There arent that many buffs you need as a ranger that you cant get from wands/potions. You wont lose much when being dispelled if you use UMD instead of your own spells.Biolab00 wrote: Fri May 29, 2020 8:05 amThis build is viable but take into consideration on dispelling roll.AstralUniverse wrote: Fri May 29, 2020 6:27 amIts pretty good. And if damage is a problem, try 21 ranger, 6 fighter, 3 monk instead. Either of them should handle Maurs just fine (maybe not solo the entire place though) with that 60+ ac and 51 ab before improved expertise.
Whether you want more damage vs more resistant to dispel unless you are negative modifer wisdom but it's not likely since there's a monk sub class there.
You can't really have both ways.
EDIT: I see what you meant now with the negative wisdom score and CL. Yeah it sucks until beamdog fixes it, but its gonna happen eventually. Its a bug, not an intentional balanced state. Wanna hear something funny? My bard/ftr/wm that does not cast anyway has 11 base cha because I refused to play a bard singer with negative cha. Now let it sink. lol.

Yea i got you. Remember when i start in the bug forum on the Mundane dispel roll topic thing? It was an extremely horrible nightmare for my character when the I'm being dispelled at a 100% rate since my char was being slaughtered by those easy regular monsters that i used to wreck without breaking a sweat.AstralUniverse wrote: Fri May 29, 2020 10:06 amSure. Since from then, dispel is always a trigger for me. I almost started to get nightmare

And that was then, i realised that heaven and hell really is only separated by a line except this line is "dispel" for me.

Seriously though! Please send me a link to the build:-)Biolab00 wrote: Fri May 29, 2020 4:49 amTry matching a barbarian with 55AB, 6APR, dish out 50 to 70dmg before crit.NPC Logger Number 2 wrote: Fri May 29, 2020 3:36 amShow me a mundane melee build that solos places like Red Dragon Island or Titan's Ascent without chugging copious amounts of healing potions and using premonition scrolls.
I've tried going for the Auril Temple's Dragon, i just drink a true strike potion and i can finish it in 2 gulps if i manage to proc several critical.
That was before i rolled him last year, i think.
You will have enough HP to tank 2 round, even if i drink the potion in front of him.
AC wise, usually between 45 to 55 [ Depend if i go full offensive or defensive ] And there's improved invisibility concealment.

Uh, barbarian rage with COT divine wrath. Basically, the usual 50AB [ 40str ] + 2 [ rage ] + 3 [ divine wrath ]Diemer84 wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2020 6:13 amSeriously though!
