I find anthropomorphic races the epitome of lazy design and that they lend themselves to crass, unimaginative roleplay. I've wanted to move gnolls away from a normal race for this very reason, and I really wish kobolds looked less like adorable puppies.

I've no doubt Kenku roleplay would quickly dissolve into a 'let's pretend to be birds' club, because really? That's all the race is in most people's eyes.
I feel like the problem with Gnolls would not exist for Kenku because of... a lot of reasons.

I am almost convinced that shortly after adding them as a player race I would encounter a Kenku hen sitting on her egg, not far from the Cordor frontier.

And that shortly after that I'd do something regrettable to them.

*Irongron appears with a giant fryingpan* Do you like your eggs over easy then?

Would that even count as a pregnancy rp?

Does Kenku taste like chicken?

These are the important questions.

DnD - the only game where it's essential to work out at what point in sentience does it qualify as cannibalism.

Also, I'd 100% go for Warforged before Kenku. If nothing else, there's less chance of pregnancy RP.

I didn't say it, I declared it.

You need to 'hereby' declare things I'm afraid.

I hereby declare Warforged to be a playable race?

((Sorry Kenku, you're just too fun as NPCs))

If people RPing egglaying is a problem, can we get gnolls removed, pls?

I can't play a gnoll because everytime I try someone says "Yiff, yiff!" at me, or makes really obnoxiously overt advances that include explicit references to certain knotted objects.

And I hate rope.

R-
Rope?

Also Arelith should just make it so gnolls only reproduce through the hyena method:
Gnolls celebrate their victories by performing demonic Rituals and making blood offerings to Yeenoghu. Sometimes the demon lord Rewards his worshipers by allowing one of them to be possessed by a demonic spirit. Marked as Yeenoghu’s favorite, the lucky recipient becomes a fang of Yeenoghu, the chosen of the Gnoll Lord. In much the same way Yeenoghu created the first Gnolls, a hyena that feasts on a fang’s slain foe undergoes a horrible transformation, becoming a full-grown adult gnoll. Depending on the number of Hyenas in a region, a fang of Yeenoghu can lead to a startling increase in the gnoll population.

It's a shame because gnoll lore is awesome.

Is this actually a thing that happens often? Maybe I'm just an innocent child, but I've never seen gnolls running around the hub yelling "OWO whats this". I'm a huge fan of monster races on arelith, and honestly hoped that with the addition of haks we might be seeing more customization (or at least armor/clothing options) for our playable monster races. Gnoll and Kobold lore is awesome and goblin clans really add to the aesthetic.

I don't even play underdark and it is so bad, screenshots of it have made their way to me. I've personally seen gnoll/elf combos in Sibayad twice, from two different characters.

If kenku are added, how long until the word "cloaca" is banned. :(

I've run a kobold group for about ten or so months and honestly find that statement a bad faith representation of other peoples roleplay. Sure you occasionally have your bad actors but you really don't see it at a rate higher than other races. At least this has been my experience on a kobold for the past year. Before that I mostly played hins or humans and experienced about the same rate of odd people on the surface as you do in the underdark. I've met a lot of great roleplayers on the Underdark as well as on the Surface and hope to continue having fun with everyone on the server.

It's not bad faith.

Gnolls have a really, really disproportionate amount of fetish sexy elven fun times.

Lets get back on subject here yall. This is about bird-people not hyena-people. Anyways, this is how I imagine RP with a kenku (Language warning): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkYh2dvoeN8
