I think Misesny_jez has a good point. Some properties should have a much higher % bid investment. That is a good gold sink; and that way it would have less impact on average houses for the normal player.

I think while this sounds good on its face, it would prevent people with lighter bank accounts from reasonably getting a bid on more expensive, rare properties, and I don't think that's a good thing, to be honest. The folks with deep pockets already have deep pockets. They can afford to bid on a bunch of houses whether or not the bidding price is increased, but folks with lighter pockets that might want a chance at scoring a rare property certainly won't.

"The Chapel quarter in Guldorand can now only be purchased by Clerics and Favored Souls.

This change does not affect the current owner."

Why?

One of my most fun times on the server was when that exact church was owned by a warlock masquerading as a priest of Selune. I feel like this needless change stifles RP.

Other temples on the server require a divine class, don't they?

I'm not sure, tbh. I was just a participant at that particular time, a dark moon cultist who'd found the perfect place to blend in.

I don't agree that temples categorically should be for divine classes only; I think they are perfect covers for thieves' guilds, warlock covens or anyone that's willing to swindle some folks out of their coin at the risk of angering the gods.

You can use the gift to do it too. So if that’s your goal than take that.

There are so few temples around that allowing anyone to take them is lame. One person doing a good thing doesn’t mean that’s not a reason to change.

This is simply fixing an oversight/bug.

I don't know about all of the temple quarters, but the one in the elven quarter in Guldorand isn't like that. An elven favoured soul couldn't own it, it had to be a cleric. A gift of devotion spellsword couldn't own it, it had to be a cleric. A paladin couldn't own it.

Quarters across the entire server are confusing, do not follow the same rules, do not follow the same scripts, have different internal/external doors/signs, have different kinds of chests, different values, some of them can be bidded on and some can't. Some of them you can buy outright, others you can't. Some are guilds with only 1 internal quarter, so people assume that means they're not a guildhouse but a quarter - but the internal quarter can be controlled by the external owner, so the quarter is passed between friends instead of ever open to bidding to the public. Some guildhouses have never been seen by most of the server, have been in certain hands from the moment they went into the server and have not been passed around or even actively used. Some guilds are supposed to have internal quarters full but do not, but that's ok, whilst other guilds are told they need to fill their internal quarters with players.

It is difficult to ask players to report this. It is difficult for DMs to investigate with so many different situations likely to change the outcomes of what is reported.

Maybe quarters / guildhouses / ships need to be looked at again, or at least cohesively updated so that they're all following the same set of rules and systems.

Hm I thought I changed that to allow it. I guess I’ll make a suggestion

Are quarters which have only 1 internal quarter still guildhouses? These do not follow the same bidding/auction system as other guildhouses.
