To Scholar Midnight

Post by Meliboeus »

I have no idea what you do, or how it works, but it always seems to help!

So thank you.

Scholar Midnight is Arelith's most powerful secret weapon. What you do is frightening, and absolutely deserves kudos.

So kudos indeed!

Done.

I've played Arelith from the very first days over a decade ago. Performance was always an issue, and one of the first things I became familar with (from the DMs) was shouts about how to reduce lag.

What we've seen from Scholar Midnight over the last 12 months is unlike anything I have ever seen. It really doesn't mater how good the creative side of Arelith is, or how good the mechanics area, if the game itself doesn't function properly, and honestly? It never did.

She's well deserving of this kudos, and from myself it is not only for the performance changes, but everything she did with me behind the scenes to get Arelith moving again when we took over, and how readily she helps when we need a real expert.

I was about to make a thread for this, come to find there already is one!

75 players online, and there's less dialogue lag than there used to be with 30 players on. I am just speechless. I can finally start a craft again!

Huge kudos to your work, and thank you!

Keep doing the coding voodoo that you do, Scholar.

We love you.

I mean I can't write anything up that would explain the awesomeness of SM so I'll just say: "Kudos!"

Oh god, Cuchilla, you went there...

All this and more for thee, Scholar. Seriously. Amazing.

Given just what I am seeing with performance right now, I feel I could post on this thread every morning for the next 1000 days and still not be fully expressing how significant this is.

In years to come we'll be telling newer players about the days when Arelith once lagged, when battles were impossible, and people got advised not to group together in the same area.

If anything ever seemed too good to true, then this has to be it.
