Essence of Power

Certain bosses have a chance to drop a vial (or gem, or whatever) filled with their "essence", or that which makes them exceptional.
Every item has a single or limited use of some special ability or spell, however the essence contained within these items decays, causing them to break (get deleted) after some period of time. (maybe 6-ish IG months)
Abilities could include:
Single Use ESF Abilities
Once Per Day Teleport (with much faster decay)
An interesting single use buff package
Temporary Immunities and Resistances
Decay means that they can't be hoarded or left in a shop at a high price for years, waiting for a rich buyer. The essence aspect could also be considered objectionable to the goodie-goodies, possibly creating conflict or opening up a black market.
