I think this is a great change. Some people may not like it, but I hope in the grand scheme of things that our player base proves to be mature enough to see it for what it is. Death matters! It is a critical driving force in many stories, and this change might cause people to think a little deeper about what death means to them in their character's life, or in the story of Arelith. Good stuff, team, kudos!

It gets my kudos.
More weight on the pvp, more 'realism' to pvp battles.

Change 20 minutes to 10 for people who can only play for an hour or two thanks and god bless.
Other than that, lovin' it.

Kudos for the death system change. I can see this promote roleplay and it only really harm players that have 1 main character. Hence properly making people make more alternative characters to play while the death penalty wear off offline on their main. cool stuff!

Death penalty doesn't wear off offline

How is having multiple characters some kind of positive? I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just a very weird thing to me to see someone call having alternates "proper."

The only problem being no-one is going to go near PvP now.

I really appreciate the admin team listening and making the quick alterations to Death. It's nice to be on a server that listens to community feedback.

Seconding this. I feel this original change was quite close to the grind script of ye olden days in its negative impact on player enjoyment. It's fantastic to see the bad parts of the system axed and thrown away in a couple hours rather than a couple months.

Jumping in on the bandwagon here. I'm excited to see every part of the death system change now. Thank you for listening!
