I haven't had a chance to play in a while: can someone give me a tl;dr for what happened with wharftown?
Wharftown pissed off Cordor, Cordor said "no you can't do that", Whaftown said "watch me, bitch", Cordor nuked Wharftown?

As much as I like IG history to remain IG history, could we get a tl;dr?
A past DM was great in providing brief factual summaries of their epic, server-wide events they threw (the one behind the War in the North/The Myrkulite Crown, etc.). I always appreciated these.
Could maybe irongorn or some of the heavily-involved DMs provide a factual summary of the destruction of Wharftown? It'd be sad if it was left to the same of Benwick, which really never got a kind of OOC "this is what happened" so its now kind of blurry on times and events.
And go emotionaloverload! write the histories for all of us!

Commader of the Milita was absent sorry I was too tired and was not able to come.
So much for my duty as the guy who leads the Milita RIP.

I wish there was a way i could record events like this, it really should be against the rules to have massive island wide consequence events and have nobody record them.
I like to record games and gameplay for future reference, its sad that not everyone can experience the things that happen especially when they are this important to the state of the game. even if you were awake, and online at the time, the server only has finite slots, so you may not even be able to see whats going on even with all the stars aligned.
at least if somebody Fraps the event others can watch what happened. id be so down to do this.

I wasn't present for the actual finale, but this is the lead up: war breaks out due to newly authoritarian Cordor clashing with a proud Wharftown. Countless peace negotiations go hilariously bad because of mishandling of setting hostile, poor communication or just plain misfortune, further escalating things.
The unified and highly levelled Wharftown proceeds to thrash the newly minted, midbie and spread across multiple timezones Cordor army. This goes on for about a month, with all peace efforts failing due to terrible communication.
Presumably the Devs decide it's time to put an end to the inconsistency that a fishing village could directly challenge a seapower in this way. This time last week Edward Cordor declares the bombing of WT unless its leader is to surrender into custody/vassalage. Said leader stoutly refuses and the NPC population acts accordingly and flees en mass.
There are a whole bunch of side plots going on, most significantly the forming of a refugee camp. But a lot of that is still very current and therefore worth following up IC. My character has a political archive in the Cordorian library that chronicles a lot of contemporary history in more detail, and may be of interest to some of you.

A re-enactment of events.
(No seriously though, don't watch if you're not fond of violence)

You will probably have as many tales and views on this great event, as there are chars/players. Everyone from our own point of view. And that's how it should be.
The afterlife will be to see up all these witnesses and try to make your own impression of what was going on.
Irongron wrote a brief and very general summary. The fragmented details are still to be found in game. Which makes an event like this so much more interesting.
Bards will probably tell of this many, many years from now.

Or just ask IC what happened from the people who were in the assault/defence.
