A str based monk will do damage. What's the most preferred end str score?
Can a monk benefit from wm? With say 4-5 fighter lvls to get the needed feats?

Re: Monk questions
The only way I can see this being viable is if your character is a worshiper of Loviatar, because you literally have to be a masochist to play a strength-based monk.DragonRiderCyric wrote:A str based monk will do damage. What's the most preferred end str score?

Snark aside, going strength-based for a few extra points of damage is not worth the hit to AC you're going to take. The most strength you need as a monk is 12-14 without gear.
A monk can benefit from Weapon Master if you focus in kama, but the number of feats required for that (ambidexterity, twf, imp twf, and all the WM prereqs) is prohibitive. Sadly, I don't think it's possible to become a weapon master in unarmed.

You cannot be a WM in unarmed.
And going STR monk is going to be a baaaad time.

Grendal Bloodwater was a strength based monk. His player could tell you how bad they are.

I will admit some primal part of me really, really likes STR monks. Going fast and punching people in the head really hard is hilariously fun, but in Arelith it's also hilariously bad. Despite your rapid speed, you're pretty much made out of thin paper and will crumple at even the slightest breeze, whereas other characters, like weapon masters, rogues or rangers can do more damage than you, whilst still keeping their ability to survive intact.

Here is another idea. Roll a strength monk and wield a light flail in one hand and pretend it is a nunchuck!
