Much like the true flame path, I suggest make an infinite casting path for each school of magic.
Of course some spell schools have limited offensive capability, most notably divination and enchantment (mainly in the lower levels), therefore I suggest combine divination and abjuration, and combine enchantment with illusion.
As well as that, I also suggest to make any save or die spell incur some kind of cooldown period, so said spells cannot be spammed.
