Has a 24 AB, 4 APR.

In an area with (approximately)...
Hook Horror, AB 9, 1APR, less than level 6.
Haast Eagle, AB 11, 1APR (?), less than level 6.
Harpy, AB 10, 2APR, barely over level 6.

Just the four attacks alone designate the Elder as a minimum of level 16 (2.33 times everything else), threatening an AC of 44(!).

Coupe that with the fact that it is impossible to run away from (it teleports) and you have a wholly ridiculous NPC.

What area is this in?

The Harpy caves from Brogdenstein, I remember taking this quest line at the suggested level, could handle pretty much everything if I did it tactfully, then came to the Harpy Queen and was dead in three hits before I could even respond.

She's doable in range with a good tank and some planning, but it goes south quick if a pet chain agro's the map. LEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOYYYYY!!!!!!!

AKA caster with overpowered summon - the bread and butter of PvE on this server.

Did it with couple melee and stealth characters as well, so it's not impossible. Definitely hardest of Brog caves chain of writs.

My wife and I do shreeking caves, crystal caves, and broken tooth as a rotation for two characters. The harpies can be tough, but not necessarily a tpk.

Been two manning this quest from lvls 9-15 with a WM and a ranger lately.

Did it with a DD and Cleric at lvl 9 last night.

It's a challenge at 9, but you can reliably complete it still.

considering there are things with +32 or +34 ab within the same writ level range, I really don't think this is overpowered. The DR might be a bit rough if you don't have a +3 weapon though. At least I think its +3 that is the threshold.
