Farewell Kudos from Lily Kenner
After a few more days and tying up a few loose ends, I'll be retiring Lily. It's been a great year with hours of fun (an...embarrassingly large number, in fact.) Following is a short list of people who helped make my most recent character a blast to play.
There's a ton more of you, but here are the highlights!
DM Hephaestus
Thank you for exposing the bombing interests of the Near-Rosewind Deer Guild. You saved many a Citizen, and helped me make some needed changes to Lily’s character sheet during the impromptu execution of…someone else on this list. Also – thanks for your patience later on.
Layla Rashmi/Velkia Verenko (Rystefn)
Two very different characters, both with their own nuances. Both good friends (most of the time) to Lily, and both responsible for the creation of RP for newbies, lowbies, low-newbies, longstanding players, and more. Layla in particular is an engaging, incredibly complex character, and has managed to be a villain that’s right more often than not – but continues to insist she is even when she isn’t.
Alessa Drasheld (Self-titled)
The first person to hear Lily truly whine about something. Clearly it worked as a pick up line. Alessa is by far the best played paladin currently on the server, complete with devotion to her cause done in a believable manner. You manage to make the class into an interesting concept, and should be commended and held up as an example. Also, along with Zenia, you kept an at risk . . . pickpocket . . . from becoming something far, far worse.
Zenia Zimraan (self-titled)
Sweet and inclusive, Sergeant Zimraan gave Lily a purpose that stuck with her until the end of her story on Arelith – even if Lily might have started casting gonne slugs with little Z’s carved on them. Then again, may she wasn’t! Either way, that purpose kept her from fully realizing her potential as Sharbait.
Morrison Necros (icequeen’sapprentice)
A hidden gem of roleplay. The detail and though you put into your emotes and interactions was positively stunning. The thought behind your character, while hard to get to a point I could see, was positively astounding. I wish I’d started playing with you much earlier.
Jenna Le’Len (StudioWinters)
Scary boss. Scary, scary boss. For a while, Recruit Kenner couldn’t look at you without quaking. Suddenly – Forehead mashing bonding moment. You know who your friends are when they sneakily dispose of a body for you.
Arabella Legivne (Faye)
Mith Faye, why mutht you torment Mith Arabella tho? Firtht the thoiled, cloak, then the desthtruction of everything the ever lovedth?
Angela Amana (triaddraykin)
Confidant, upcoming mentor, and much to Lily’s dismay, probably never a lover. Probably. I’m hoping what you’re trying to do picks up momentum – because Arelith could really use it right about now.
Storm Harthglen (P Three)
From angry, distrustful wild creature to friend and confidant. I always found the grumpy elf endearing, even when Lily had to clean up PR messes she created with bluntness. I’ll miss playing with her.
Zane/Frey (Cerb57)
Really enjoyed getting to know Zane, and making him sweat as Lily was sawing off the head of a green dragon. And you know, making him eat silver.
Frey on the other hand – Oh, Frey. So much Drama, so little time. And he’s always so serious throughout. Fortunately, he can find escape with lavender and bubbles.
I also want to commend you on sticking with a character who hit some pretty harsh adversity really early on. You were a good sport when you had plenty of reason to be frustrated.
Joshua Colt (AngelWings)
While Alessa and Zenia gave Lily a purpose, Joshua kept her from going insane/evil while trying to execute (no pun intended) her job duties. Law buddies, and someone she actually shed a genuine tear over. Also, you’re probably the nicest person on the whole server. Like seriously. Go you!
Catalin Snow
A close friend, and confidant - when Lily felt she could trust you. I always enjoyed the sweetness of Cat, and was super excited about her hobby, and how she was such a quiet force for...well, you know what she does. Hope things will settle down, and she'll get to around more.
“Sticks” (NoobSquared)
If by ‘seduce Lily’ you meant ‘make her fall from CG by having to kill you twice a week,’ then you’re Barry White and Jello Shots. I greatly enjoyed your mad elf, and I’m sorry she died so many times. Have fun spreading madness, wherever you do it! I’m sure it’ll be fun for everyone else around. Sorry about your ‘children.’
Magpie (Dr_Hazard89)
A tiny little bundle of sanity for Lily, an absolute sweetheart, and totally adorable. A shame we never got to finish that talk about what exactly the differences between human and elf eyeball flavor are.
Rune (roy rutan)
No, I didn’t like Rune just because of the money. Lily never was terribly sure what to think of you for the longest time, and there were more than a few times she wondered if it wouldn’t have just been easier to shoot the elf.
Amacceam (Barradoor)
Remember when Lily threatened to shoot you? Yeah, I didn’t have any gonne slugs. That’s okay though! It was great to watch Willow crack and start to reform over time, and watch her change in reaction to the various … things that happened.
Droibo Maynard/Ashani Blank (wriggle)
Oh, Droibo, the lecherous hin monk. You bring much needed lightheartedness to the server with your goofy antics, and I always enjoyed how Droibo could - in a single line - make the most dire and stressful of situations a little more amusing.
Namil Evanara (MuffinMonster)
Always enjoyed trying to decipher the information Namil had for Lily – even if it took ‘At Least Seven Hours’.
Ahriman Temeluchus (LegaciesNeverDie)
Never trusted, often relied on, and always interesting. The level of detail you put into your emotes is great, as well as consistent. I always enjoyed the plotting, and the fact that I could never tell whether Ahriman was trustworthy or not.
Lucius Spear-Rattler/Illyra Sevana (sqareroot-1)
Dammit, Lucius. You were so great! Where did you go? You were one of Lily’s first four friends on the island!
Darrian Terringale (Dunisbane)
The seedy merchant, patriarch, guildmaster and…oh, so much more. I really enjoyed the cat and mouse we played with our characters the whole time Darrian ran, and I’m still impressed on how quickly you built a company that still exists in some form.
Naleeah il Isahim (liasyalli)
Naleeah came at exactly the right moment, and set Lily back on the right course. I have the feeling you’re going to be a source of much Good on the server. Stick around – there’s a shrine that needs you.
Lyra Heartwood (Maragarm)
One of Lily’s first – and recently, more tragic – friendships. They became friends over digging a grave in a Bramble, and their friendship was put to rest in much the same manner.
Ester Roache
Voted “Most Likely to Get Lily Killed by an Axe Murderer.” A shame these two didn’t get more time together, but I had a great time while it lasted.
Karla Fateheart (self-titled)
Beyond being the player who inspired Lily’s concept a decade ago, Karla played a significant role in shaping who Lily eventually became. RP with you was always exciting and at the time felt unpredictable. Goodness, did you shake things up.
Evana Thendry (Fireblanket)
I only truly played with you once plus a handful of chance meetings. I loved every one of our interactions. Evana was Lily’s first friend on the island, and probably the one she knew the least about. Even so, you did some of the better ‘low-level adventure RP’ I’ve had.

We'll miss you, hope you come back sooner than later. And it's alright, when Ama threatened her with Gruin I hadn't took it back yet.
