Ammunition Damage

Hey there!
I've been mucking around a little with crossbows recently, and I've taken note that almost all ammunition has a spread elemental damage bonus. I have also taken note of the fact that any player can enchant their equipment with a 5/- damage resistance against all elemental types, if they find the right shop and have the gold for it. In PvP this becomes a little tricky as any player, no matter the race or class, will essentially have a (15-25)/- damage reduction to your shots.
Personally, I would have been okay with it if some classes would be able to have this sort of advantage against munition users. I dont know how I feel about the fact that everyone can have it. What do you guys think?

I agree that the elemental damage types are pretty useless, but in the meantime you can have a mage put Greater Magic Weapon, which adds physical damage, and Blackstaff, which adds magic damange. Other than this I will usually put a 1d6 divine/positive/negative or the paladin spell Deafening Clang, which always does 5 sonic damage. This helps a little bit with damage.

Keen Edge also adds physical damage.
You can do Keen, GMW, Blackstaff for reasonably priced PvP arrows.

Divine/Negative/Positive and Sonic damage is still subject to the 5/- damage resistances. They will still be soaked most of time I'd wager.
Buffing physical and magical damage might be the best course of action for PvP. That way you'd only be weak to damage reduction chars. So essentially you'd have 3 enchantments that are dealing damage.
How much magical damage does blackstaff give?

3 Magic maximum, but nothing can block it, so it remains useful.

5 resistance is easy to blow through if you have d8 d10 or +4 essences which at minimum do 4 most times with a decent hit do 8 or even 12 with a crit
sure you will cancel most elemental damage but a few rounds into a fight a good shot can still do major damage and also called shots will do some major hurt

There aren't d10 essences, d8's don't do 4 minimum, a decent hit with a +4 doesn't do 8, it will do +4 every time except a crit will do 12 (presuming longbow), called shots don't do extra damage, and the length of the fight doesn't matter for how much damage the arrow does.

No, but you can get 1d10 Fire off of a cheap Flame Weapon scroll.
