Quarterstaff Love!

Just noticed Quarterstaves don't get all the crafting options as other weapons Ex: Iron, Steel, Damask and so on.
That's odd considering clubs, with are also wooden weapons do.
Also, How difficult would it be to make them function with flurry of blows? I'd love to see monks going about whacking people in the head with a stick. ^^
