Underdark Totem Variants

Totems are cool, they add some variety to the various druids you encounter and play as and provide a unique jumping off point to shape your character should you choose.

I wish there were more options for Underdark folk to explore, and I feel like you wouldn't need to reinvent the wheel with new perks either.

Spider, Rat, Bat are all fine as they are.

I'd suggest Underdark totems just get a 1:1 mirror to surface totems. Something like:

Bear: +4 Con/Str = Rothe
Panther: +4 Dex, +4 Hide/MS = Squig
Wolf: +2 Str +2 Dex, +2 Spot/Hide/MS = (Cant think of the name right now, shares the same model as the Cordor Sewer Beast)
Eagle: +2 CHA, +12 Spot = Ooze (The most charming of all the Underdark's creatures! ...was thinking mostly because of their True Sight)

Others could include some form of Beetle, or the Bulette. I'm sure there are plenty others.

Or maybe I'm just biased because I want to play as some crazy old dude who lives in the Underdark tending to a flock of the most epic Rothe this side of Ched Nasad!

Thanks for your time!

I like the idea of variants but some of these particular ones wouldn't make sense for a druid. Carrion Crawler for example, are abberations.

Variants sound sweet though, as long as they're actually Arelith-druid appropriate.

Semi-related. Ranger totem does not cover undead.... be a lot cooler of it did.

You’re correct I misspoke regarding the carrion crawler - the name of the creature escapes me at the moment - I was thinking of the little animals in the low level areas of the UD that cast grease and share the model with the intellect devourer. I’ll edit when I find what I’m speaking of - they can be animal empathied.

Instead of rothe replacing bear, a small bullette would be better.

Well you can still have two as animal henchmen, as a ranger :)

Aren't Myconoids sapient creatures though? Like, human-level intelligence (or above even).
