Arelith Portal

The Portal page shows us character names and player names, which is fine. Disguised characters are actually disguised on the playerlist, which is also great.
Player names, however, do not reflect the used login name. If you created your character on the playername Jane, then proceed to log on the same character using another playername, 'Jane' would still show up.
Is there a particular reason why the actual login name isn't used? I'm wondering if it's a technical thing where the portal simply cannot reflect the current login names.
I ask because I've had a few people express concerns regarding the bypassing of disguises by simply looking out for when the same playername on the Portal suddenly shows a different character name.
Personally, I can see where they're coming from, though I'm not so concerned about that in particular. My own issue with the portal always showing the player name that was used to create the character is that it doesn't allow for much privacy, if, say, I wanted to log on with a different username on any given day. Granted, yes, you could simply create the new character under a different player name (and I personally have), but it doesn't offer much to those wishing privacy, especially those concerned with disguises.
