Earl Manfried

I do think that Earl Manfried is overpowered. Me and a friend were steam-rolling the whole place until Earl Manfried. It was all fine at first, having destroyed the Phylactery with an Oblivion Wyrdstone. A harm spell, a minor setback, we rebuffed and continued on.

At one point Earl Manfried kicked into overdrive, having an aura surround him, which I do not know what it does. He proceeded to put so many different kind of debuffs on both of us. Poison, disease, bleed, lvl drain, slow, etc. etc.
I have been constantly stunned. I tried healing my friend with healing kits aswell, but he only took damage instead.

Then he reached "Near Death" status, and we both spontaniously combusted, having both instantly died without the Earl even so much as having moved. I proceeded to run back to re-buff, get Death Armor, as I have 30 AB, which was not even close to enough to hit the Earl, although my friend, with 40 AB aswell, was barely able to hit him. I proceeded to run at him with the Death Armor, hoping to tank and get him to kill himself, but suddenly two or three rounds in, the Death Armor was suddenly gone, aswell as my barkskin and other buffs I've gotten, without any single indication. And at that point I've noticed that it happened before when the Earl went uber-mode aswell.

The rest of the mansion compared to how unrelenting the Earl was is just completely insane.

It's important to have mind immunity, negative energy protection and death ward when fighting him.

If you think that particular boss is hard you won't enjoy meeting with the one in Kholingen at all, and what I mean with this is, that for every boss, you must have a strategy to defeat them, for example, this boss you are mentioning it's true that can be really a nuisance against a melee character, I did tried once to defeat him with a barbarian, and I failed, but, however, when I tried to defeat him with a sorcerer it was a total breeze because I used a different strategy to defeat it.

The strategy? Meat summon of some kind, wall of flame the phylactery, and finish the Earl with IGMS, it won't take you too many rounds to defeat it.

Pretty much that was my take on the place as well, 99% of dungeon is probably too easy, boss really really tough. I like bosses that you can't simply steamroll in 3 seconds and need to use some strategy (like not simply just storm and hack). But I do think he does get a bit carried away with debuffs. I wouldn't want him made super easy but I do think maybe he could use a tweak or two.
