I will be short and to the point... If a faction commits an unauthorized raid or pvp they are the ones who should be punished for it not the people who react to it. If there is not going to be equal justice then why bother? Not trying to be a d*** but rules should apply to everyone not just to favored groups. Im not going to describe what prompted this post or who was involved... but it has left a bad taste in my mouth and many others from what i am hearing. The server is going well on the whole and i don't want to see that track-record impaired if it can be helped. I would prefer no responses to this post as it would likely just devolve into a flame-war and get multiple people banned.

Probably definitely want this PM'd to the DM's privately then.

And without knowing any specifics, I have been around long enough to see a lot of people complain about being punished for "responding" to someone else breaking the rules. Two wrongs never make a right, if you break the rules, even if it is to enact vigilante justice on someone you perceive to break the rules, the DM's are likely to punish you for it. Add to that we don't have public announcements of punishments, so the people who did the first wrong might already have gotten a talking to by the DM's.

What punishments are used these days in Arelith? I remember many, many years ago when I first joined the server doing some bad stuff. I also remember punishments were harsh. Usually in the lines of losing your RPR and 5 levels. I have since then become a (moderately) well behaved member and so am a bit out of the loop when it comes to this.

Not looking for specific instances of crime-punishment, only the kind of punishments that are used these days.

As Rambling Midiget says - this should be brought to the team really.
As Nitro says - Two wrongs do NOT make a right. It just makes the situation worse for all.
Shadow Reality: Obviously we can't give details as to specific situations but punishments include but are not limited to:
RPR drops
Level Drops
Enforced Notells
Temporary Bans
Perminent Bans

And so on. We try to tailor each 'punishment' to each situaiton, in the hope it works as a corrective measure.
