When will you remove them from the 5%?

I have never played a vampire so I am curious as to why they should be removed.

They have a lot of RP potential, why remove them?

There's been kind of a lot of them in the past year, I wouldn't mind seeing them rotate out for a while either.

Vampires will most likely be rotated out with new races being introduced in its place.

Better yet, why do 5% races still exist? Do something else. Give your PC a dog. Give a fighter the ability to -scry. I dunno. Anything but special snowflakes.

People have a plethora of options at their disposal. Some people like to play specific races. Or people prefer to apply for what’s available without the need of waiting for races to be developed or their other requests to be met.
I am open to a lot of suggestions if it is reasonable.

While some may dislike "special snowflakes" people may want to play that stuff to allow for certain narratives they find interesting. The options taken in those may also lead to some new ideas for reward races in the future.

I agree with you. On some level, I really do.
But Arelith has proven its inability to handle appropriate reactions to special races, and anything special. See "feylock" and when people used the word "bigot" in Cordor that prompted dev response.
I get people wanna try do some kind of unique narrative. But like isn't having a doggo better than dragon wings?
I dunno. You give people the choice to play something so unique and so absurd, they'll take it. I suggest remove the suggestion entirely.
5% role should be described, "you get something cool. talk to Spyre." Advertising these extravagant and wholly unnecessary races isn't good (in my opinion) for the spirit of the server. It encourages the 5% grind, rewards people who shouldn't necessarily be rewarded, and helps revert Cordor to the days of drinking tea and crumpets with kobolds on Aristotlus.

Better to leave it to the DM/Admin team to police what they think is appropriate, I think.

You do realize some people have not been around for years and years and years right? There are plenty of people who have probably never played an unusual race on this or any other server before.

I really think this is a borderline troll thread. It serves no constructive purpose, save to foster envy. Its only possible result is for the Dev Team to do what they said they were going to do anyway.

I like playing different races. It's interesting and a creative challenge to play something that's kind of alien and fill in the gaps of the the lore. Haven't played an actual 5% race yet but tried some of the more odd ones Arelith has to offer and enjoy that it's an option.
Don't put other players down for playing races they're fully entitled to choose. Campaign for their removal, whatever, but if someone's playing something they picked on a 5% or choosing a Major award race that's open to them that's their right. Finding a character concept that you really like is a special thing and it's really awful behavior to shame them for it.
Let people enjoy things.

Anyone who spent at least 2 minutes reading this page knows why this thread exists.
You cannot claim that dragons are OP and then keep the vampires. I didn't think this needed explaining, but here you go.

Funny. The only parts of it I find OP is the massive regeneration and the movement speed bonus. Since the stat bonuses are softcapped, there are some potentials for abuse in equipment design, but since I don't know how fast the blood levels decrease, I can't say how I feel about it. Personally, I'd be fine with the regeneration being tied to an ability that costs blood rather than be based on having high blood. That creates a cost for it's bonus rather than it being a reward for being well fed.
But, I think the concept of vampire PCs is neat, just as I think the concept of the Raksasa PC was really neat. Dragons, I always thought was an issue more in the fact that the form was tied to level, so pretty much every PC turns into an ancient dragon that's basically the same as a werewolf or a totem druid for RP only. The Dragon should have always been more about the Dragon form than the humanoid shapes.

Vampires leave some room for eq configuration but I find the lack of gifts to be crippling save for a couple of builds. Theoretically at least, I haven’t actually played a vampire.

Crit immunity, sneak immunity, mind immunity, death spell immunity, poison immunity, stat drain immunity, 8 soft stat buffs that are easy to maintain, undead 'weaknesses' that can be easily countered and made irrelevant, totem druid form, regen is just the cherry on top.
Movement speed. Made obsolete with haste due to the MS cap.
Yes, truly, the one thing that makes vampires OP. Let us ignore the crazy power this race gets for the sake of "roleplay" and "neat concepts".
I'm glad to hear about the upcoming rotation, this thread can be locked.
