Known for a while.
Essentially, you need to cast it 3x times if you want 2x. First one, dominates as normal. Second one, the first one breaks free. Re-cast on first to dominate it again.
Assuming that none of them save their saving throw, you now have 2x dominated.
Unselect both in player tool 1, set both to attack nearest, use player tool 1
individually on them to drive their AI to combat one at a time. Once they have been in a fight once, they usually behave alright. Test which of them works for attack nearest, using player tool 1 to send another first to aggro. Once you fire something or spam attack nearest, the other one normally follows. Imp. Invis does screw their AI while invisible. Just shove them with player tool right into face of mobs, unselect with player tool 1 and hit attack nearest. It sometimes works. Otherwise can wait the few minutes until invis effect disappears. Rounds/Casterlevel, double that if extended.
The annoying part of the bug is that you have to spend multiple spells to GET 2x. 9th level Dominate Monster spell slots arent cheap, even to my sorcerer. Add salt to the wounds, usually epic level mobs have either spell resistance, immunity or nuts high will save. For example Pit Fiends in Baator have Spell Resistance and +30 Will save or so.
You can deal with that, yes. With Mordekaines to lower SR, with Mind Fog to lower Will Save.. however,it isnt fun to have to do that combo 3x times. That's 3x 9th level Morde, 3x 9th level Dominate Monster, 3x Mind Fog... if mobs arent stacked. Assuming nothing saves. Sounds reasonable?
It will be fixed "eventually". Lots of other features pending, so we will be waiting and hoping for a while. ESF: Encha was rumored to get an Epic Spell someday. Live in hope.
In the meanwhile, you can still easily dominate 1x, or 2x if you have the spell slots to spare. Mind Fog is also a great spells for ESF: Enchantment. AoE stun to most mobs, lowers will save regardless if they save or not. Toss in Confusion on top of that and large packs of mobs are made lots less intimidating.
