OOC Chat

For the last forum, there was a (admittedly seldom used) link to an IRC chat up at the top. We don't have that here, and the old link isn't working.
Are there any plans to set up a new official chat room? It's nice to use to ask questions, or just to hang out.

what if you made it hook up with the game. like making two commands where one shows what has been said (like -showchat) and one where you can send messages to the public server (like -sendchat).

That seems overly complicated. Wouldn't it be easier just to alt-tab out and look at the chat window?

Theoretically yes, but some people experience crashes when alt-tabbing as well as a host of other issues.

Unfortunate as that is, I can't see this surviving the cost vs. benefit argument.
While I don't know exactly how difficult it would be to code, it would, in the end, be an extra load on the servers which doesn't directly contribute to game quality.

If you start NWN in windowed mode you can tab out to the chat easily.
For smartphone users, there are ways to connect to IRC-chats too.

Since I broke my iPhone I can't actually give a guide how it's done. But it works, I managed to log into the chat.

I've even talked to their Tech Support, and they enter the exact same settings I have and for them it works, for me it doesn't. I sent them my error messages and everything, and it cannot be replicated
super weird.

a dm told me once to read "when bad things happen to good adventurers" and it helped me a lot. you might find it useful as well with this problem.
