Hello, I went to log in today (Distant Shores server) and my character, Victor Brown, is missing from my vault. There is a new character, Hork Mermax, in my vault that doesn't belong there, as well. That said, the new character is the same build as my missing character, so maybe the name changed somehow? I didn't log in because I didn't want to make things worse. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Steps to reproduce:
Log in to play.
Look for Victor Brown in my vault.
Realize he's not there and an imposter has taken his place.
Be sad.

I expect to log in and see my character, Victor Brown, in my vault.

Actual result:
Victor Brown is missing and a new character, Hork Mermax, is in his place.

Notes:

Looking at the new character, he's the same build/level as my character. So, the name may have bugged somehow.
I didn't actually log in because I didn't want to make things worse. So, I'm not 100% sure what the bug is.
I never use disguise or anything like that to change the name of my character.

It is just the name changing, and it's a known (and weird) bug.

You'll still be able to access/refresh your quarter/store if you have one, you'll still be in all the factions, have all your gold in the bank, etc.

Just get in touch with a DM through /dm in game and let them know about the bug, they'll be able to bring you to the character editing area to fix the name. If you want to, you can disguise the character as their usual name and keep playing in the meantime, although you might get some weird reactions from people the character know over the disguise(just be ready with a tell saying you got hit by a name change bug).

Update for anyone else who may experience this bug...

When I logged in, the server detected the name mismatch and corrected it automatically. Groovy!
