Currently when a ranger logs off or crashes, their empathy companions *wander off* and are unable to be recovered. This is quite frustrating due to the current frequency of crashes with EE, especially if you are RPing with the animals at the time.

Can I suggest that these companions return to being free if the ranger breaks the connection to them either intentionally or by accident - rather like creatures under mind control spells. Perhaps they can remain neutral after this point to prevent them attacking the PC/allies on return?

I suspect that if possible, it would be a very involved project for one of our devs, and would be a poor use of that time.
