Doesn't seem to be having any actual effect? My Wizard/Rogue, 32-1 UMD, can equip a pair of Disciples Gloves in inventory. They were crafted before the change, that may be part of it. I checked with a very small number of other items but I can't remember them.

I believe the “UMD requirement” item property only applies if an item also has the “Only Usable By: ???” property, which the monk gloves appear to be lacking.

Side note: So does he Orog Bastard Sword, but while other races can equip it, they get a scripted AB penalty. I don’t think the same characters could equip an Orog Greatsword, which has the “Only Usable By: Orog” property.

To bring this buried issue back up. Since it was used in the example above. Possibly by moving orog to a creation character instead of a sub-race under half-orc all characters seem to be able to use it? May need examination.
