Missing a huge amount of AB

Edit: SOLVED, not a bug, but a feature. Finesse only works on one or more weapon size category lower than the character







As seen from the screenshots, I have the required feats for my AB to be well above 20 with my longsword and shield. I have both the Weapon Finesse feat needed to use my Dex as an attribute for AB, AND have 10 lvls of Ranger to be well above that aswell.

And as can be seen in this screenshot, I'am supposed to have just 2 less AB than shown in it, because of my 4 levels of Arcane Archer



I have already talked over this issue with DM Hoodoo and he has directed me to post this on the bug forum.

Note: Don't mind me being on top of the Trade House. It was a bug that was fixed in the 4th screenshot by DM Hoodoo. I have no clue how I ended up there as it happened while I was releveling.

Longsword is not a finessable weapon.

To finesse a weapon, it must be one size category smaller than the wielder (i.e. small for a genasi) or a rapier.

Not really the place for this, but I've always wondered. Would there be any kind of mechanical unbalancing that would happen if all weapons were finessable?

I see. I thought medium weapons were finessable. This explains lots. Thank you.

In PnP it needs to be one size category lower.

NWN was lazy. The list of finessable weapons is unrelated to the size of the character.

All Small or Tiny weapons + Rapier (Arelith adds the Quaterstaff to the list)

So in theory a halfling can, I believe, duel wield a rapier with finesse.
