Spellsword/Monk and certain weapons

Spellsword/monk seems to behave oddly with some weapons:
Katana: Gets monk attacks per round at -5 iteration. (6 attacks with BAB 16), no shield AC. Gets twohand bonus damage.
Sai: Gets monk -3 AB iteration, but not attacks per round. (4 Attacks with BAB 16), gets Shield AC.
