While a PC is mounted on a horse, it receives high penalty towards certain skills such as hide, move silently, open lock, and disarm trap.

Utilizing Pray (the ability or command) while mounted will remove said penalty and not getting the PC out of more dire situations such as imminent death.

Probably worthwhile to add that you are or at least were able to just remove the horsey penalties by chugging a lesser restoration. Further, I discovered an exploit that lets you keep the horsey speed unmounted, meant to report it but forgot.

Yes but the potential for stealth horses is incredible! Also this explains why I couldnt land a god save on a bleed out the other day.
