Lieutenant System - Needs Curtailing of Possible Creatures

I love the new system a whole lot!

But I noticed one instance which suggests it's a bit 'too' universal.

There was a wild horse lieutenant. A horse. I killed it for testing purposes, and there was no loot, because wild horses are not set to drop remains.

There's likely to be other instances of this throughout the server, where creatures that don't drop loot and aren't intended to be fought can roll as lieutenants.

I have no reasonable way of looking through all of them to tell, but I wanted to escalate it for someone who does.

Same issue with rats, they have lieutenants but these drop nothing aside from fur and meat.

When you killed these creatures, did your summons get the last hit? If so, I think this is caused by a longstanding bug with loot generation and summon last hits. A fix is in the pipeline for that particular bug.

Definitely a valid concern about random NPCs turning unique. On the other hand, it can make for really funny or cool situations. I'll keep an eye on it over the next while and curtail it if it becomes too crazy.

I killed the horse myself with no summons. I don't think they're set to drop the "Remains" item that contains loot at all. Can't speak for the rat.

Instead of sharpshooting this out of the gate, I want to say we need to come up with a badge or new color for unretired retired admins.

Man, this new system is great! As a low-level character who has one of his first fights against Dery the Badger, and a nice first magic item from the combat to boot, please let the system stand.

Sure, if you want to make it not work on NPCs, fine. But I think even the lvl 3 should have a chance of participating against the badger lord or rat king. This is amazing, high-adventure, tavern-tale stuff.

Funniest part was running into a Lt. Iron Golem in the Duergar fortress. I imagine a hardy duergar creating a golem and getting so attached they named it "Milion" :mrgreen:

I wonder what'd happen if it was ridden. Maybe something special can be done for the special horses?

That is one way to interpret it and it's pretty awesome!

Loving the lieutenant system so far, and even if the wild NPC may be unintended, I'd say keep it as it is. Maybe even expand on it.

It does somewhat indirectly buffed Rangers or Druids with AE skills, which is even better.

This I agree with wholeheartedly. Please let the system stay in the way it is.

We were roleplaying for over an hour and a half outside of Cordor, and all this time a non-hostile named boar was ever so slowly making its way to us, its curiosity perked by every in-game hour that passed, until nearly a day later it decided to attack us.

It was an endearing moment with our characters occasionally watching the boar as it slowly inched its way towards us.
