I'm attempting to relevel a legacy character to a different build, which includes a lot of Knight levels. However, the popup to select Knight path is not appearing, and I'm not sure why. It's been frustrating me to no end, as this character hasn't qualified for PDK before this point, and can't have gotten that particular popup at any point.

Steps to reproduce
----------------------------

Reset to first level, proceed with level-ups as normal until I hit Knight levels. No path selection. I have attempted the advised remedy of waiting on first Knight level and repeatedly changing area, but to no avail.

Expected result
-----------------------

Getting the path selection dialogue, and therefore the rest of the class' features.

Actual result
-------------------

No path select dialogue, and I'm left without what this class should have.

Have you tried the -path command? I had an issue like this on one of my characters on the PGCC and that worked for me.

Yes, I did attempt -path, as well as area switching.

What may be worth noting is that this character already is a Kensai, but that should - in theory - not affect being able to choose a class path - which should be distinct from Kensai, which is pretty class-agnostic, IIRC?

I have a Kensai PDK, and did not experience any issues. However they did -path, a while ago.

In which case, I'm pretty much stumped, and would appreciate some admin assistance.

You can't change paths, even through releveling, your old path will stay with you and automatically return once you have levels in the applicable class.

But that's my entire problem, right now. I've never, to my recollection, chosen a Knight path - I have Kensai, yeah, but by all reports I've heard, that SHOULD overlap with class path just fine. I have never had the opportunity to choose that.

Unless there's something I'm missing, of course - like Kensai selection on chargen locking out all later such options - in which case I apologize, and will muddle on.

Am I to understand that the various Knight paths aren't in fact integral class features but rather equivalent to other path selections in their entirety?

When you took your first orginal level in knight,it should have popped up a pick a path window. [Kensai or no.]
Once you have selected something in that path window, you are stuck with it forever.
It should be extremely difficult to have a PDK without a path at all. [One presumes if you somehow canceled out the orginal window, and there's a bug preventing it opening that could be the case?

To test. Trigger your knight abilities,and cross reference with the Wiki to make sure 100% that they are affected by none of the buffs.

I'll try and test that - but, near as I recall, my narrative is: (it's been a good few years on this character after all, so I hope to god my memory isn't failing me on this one) I have never taken Knight levels before my recent attempts at rebuilds. Ever. [Again, I certainly hope.] On taking these levels for the first time, I got no Path popup whatsoever, continued taking Knight levels until I realized something was wrong, popped a relevel token to bump myself down, leveled back up to first PDK level, and again, nothing.

If I have accidentally picked nopath at some point, that's a terrible mistake, and I'd still like it rectified somehow, even if that necessitates a rebuild into something that isn't PDK.

It triggers normally after transitioning on the -First- Knight level.
If you took multiple Knight levels without leaving the same area, it might have over-ridden the trigger?

I would suggest getting de-leveled and releveled by a DM, taking one knight level, transitioning, and seeing if it triggers then?

But- that's what I've already done. I've already knocked myself back down to pre-Knight levels, took the first one, transitioned, nothing.

If you've also checked that none of the triggered paths are providing, then I am 100% out of suggestions.
It'd take admin level tweaking of your character to retrigger -Path
