Hobgoblins?

Greetings.

I want to begin this message by immediately putting my hands forward saying that there could be reasons behind these Master choices on a Race in play that I am not clear about, and that absolutely this idea of mine is not a complaint "Muah muah the Hobgoblin models are ugly" no absolutely, but it's something I'd like to question.

Hobgoblins are one of my favorite races in DnD, and i tried some times to start a Hobgoblin characther in the server, but all the times i remain stuck in the same point, the game models, because i must say hoping to not be the only one believing it, the Hobgoblin models of NwN are quite ugly.

If Gnolls, Minotaur, Ogres and similiar at least are most of the time Cool looking the Hobgoblin model are quite low respect to the other monster races...

Are you suggesting to change the model ? yes, but why do not remove the model at all from Hobgoblin players and allow them to play the normal human/half-elf model?

There are 2 faces both for female and males (The considered Ugly faces or Peecekeepe's faces) that would be perfect for a Hobgoblin, Just give them Red skin and the game is done, they look like Hobgoblins.

I understand that following this plan you will see no difference in game between a full armored Hobgoblin and a human, but i think you should not se the differences in the first place , the size between a human and a Hobgoblin are similiar.

Hoping to not be the only one thinking that i'm not begging the master to do this change, but i think this change may lead more people to play this wonderful race.

Hobbos need love too. I agree. I feel like I dont see very many Hobgoblins running about, they are a prevalent race of monsters right?

I like the idea of the model change. I'd already been discussing replacing it, but the above suggestion may be even better.

Same idea...I am all up for it...
That peacekeeper head is so good and its shame thats its nearly non usable bcs nor hobs or half-orc have acces to it...only humans which is kinda weird for them in first place...

Half-orc model. 10% smaller. Orange-red skin only. We need this!

Also, normal goblins with gnome model but a few scaled orcish heads would be perfect.

I made one once and deleted after ten minutes of looking at it. This was before you got the reward back but I didn't care. It was worth throwing the award away not to have to look at that stupid cartoonish model any longer.

I love this idea and would play it as soon as possible.

I would leave hobgoblin models as option for those who like them (I personally like them and would be pity to see them go away), as well give option for orogs to use orc models.

And if some "goblin heads" are given to halflings/gnomes for players who like to look different, I would still keep option for the players to pick goblin models too over them if wished.

Edit: But if you ask me, I would just keep monster models and give orc models to orogs, as its often confusing to get them and half-orcs mixed.

That would be nice but you have to find/make this goblin head model and doing sono i Remember you races Like kobolds, ogres,minotaurs and gnolls can not bhe changed... I mean they can but with a huge work from the developer's staff

Don’t see why this wouldn’t work. I also think it looks better than the default models available. They just don’t look like hobgoblins, idk. Very weird design compared to what they’re supposed to look like.

You would see the hobgoblin population sky rocket if they were given dynamic models.

Nothing, i was just saying i do not think giving Hobgoblins good models would make the popolation SKY ROCKET, maybe from 1 hobgoblin in the server it will start to seen 5 or 10 because they are still a race you have to use a reward on it, just saying that :D

not like Slaves rigth now that without the outcasts are EVRYWHERE :-P

Why? We allready have problem with nearly nothing interesting in lower rewards and you want to reduce it to nothing?
And who isnt siting on couple of minor/normal rewards anyway...its not like it takes more then 2-3 days of low game time to get charcter to lvl 16....

Normal reward needs love. Sure. But hobgoblins arent really uncommon at all.

True...lets move all non monster UD races to rewards and get hobs down to non reward... :D (joking...I would personaly like that....combined with total slave system rework so they cant own anything or their masters have acces to all their stuff bank included...but I can imagine that outrage)

You know with summer fastly approaching, itd be a great time to ungift & dynamic model hobgoblins! We need more lawful evil races in the Underdark. :>

I wanna make a hobogobo pretty bad, but the weirdly synched walk animation puts me off. Please, dynamic model them.

That would be awesome. I would definitely play one again they were given customizable bodies! Hobgoblins are badass.

Do they have classes they do well? Their stats are ok but most of the concepts I’ve come up with seem to be surpassed by other UD options.
