Darkvision and Ultravision VFX

I'm not sure whether this is beamdog or arelith change, but those two abilities now are nearly useless for making scene brighter.
I'm talking about visuals (mechanical effect is still there). Both Ultravision and Darkvision used to make entire scene brighter. Ultravision did this to ridiculous degree and eliminated all shadows, but that's another story.
Right now Ultravision spawns a puny purple light source which barely lights up surroundings, and Darkvision uses even weaker light source which barely lights up anything. The difference in brightness with darkvision on is probably around 1%, meaning without a torch in many areas you can't see a thing, darkvision or not.
Would be nice to have this fixed, or to make this configurable or to have a way to revert to earlier behavior. Prior to EE, Darkvision was a desirable enchantment to have on an item so you wouldn't need to carry a torch around, right now its visual effect is too weak to be of any use.

You could also adjust gamma before EE and I personally struggle with some areas because they are too dark. Not sure if there's another way to help this problem but at the very least if things like dark/ultravision lighten up the screen a little bit more it would be epic.

In the "totally hidden config menu" (Ctrl+Shift+F12) there's this option:
It might be what you were looking for. It is possible that you'll need to enable at least ambient occlusion for it to work.

i really wish we replaced darkness' VFX with the one used for druid's AoE camo spell. i hate darkness for this exact reason.

It worked VERY well before switch to EE. It used to brightly light up entire map.

You can also use the console to adjust brightness:
just press "~" to open up the console
then type "Gamma X" (X = variable greater than 0, default setting is 2.2)

Here's an Override that removes the effect of darkness that darkens the entire screen and puts a border on darkness so you can still see where the effect ends.

That's not what the thread was about.
