Invisible halflings

I'm not seeing this reported in other threads, so...

Halfling players frequently fail to load their models as of now. THis results in a floaty name, no model, and unclickable character.

Its not just players, i'm seeing halfling npcs missing - And some of them their names are coming up red - as if the playerer (or npc) is hostile.

Whilst i'm all for the additional customisation provided, What i really prefer is playing a game where i can see other players, and preferably with a head. the number of missing head models i'm still seeing around is ridiculous.

I remember there was a time (albeit 10 years ago) where if people had missing head it was against the rules, and was pretty much considered kill on sight.

Just food for thought but from what i've seen this has only happened since the custom robes and whatnot came in.

Even non halfling npc's and characters are starting to go invisible now though relogging seems to fix it for a while at least.

I found that relogging doesn't fix it, but restarting the program does.

This is what happens when I wish on The Monkey's Paw for Halflings to disappear.

If you see this, can you document it again and with screenshots if possible?

So far we are only aware of Halflings.

Thanks

Assuming it happens again sure no problem.

This happens to me fairly often, and seems to occur after transitioning between servers.

When I start up the game and log in for the first time, I'm fine. After crossing the border, the issue seems to crop up. I will specifically verify this next time I'm not engaged in RP.

This is also happening to NPC xvarts in the caves under Brog. Maybe elsewhere too, but definitely there, and they do use halfling models.

I'm not sure whether this is related (and either way it is a trivial issue by comparison), but perhaps 30-50% of the time (variable on logging in/server switching but consistent during a session on the same server) the graphics for the clothing and armour items I have with new robe details aren't showing in my inventory (all I see is the core NWN belt piece). They show up fine on my avatar though.

disappearing graphics for new clothes/weapons/heads is related to relogging. Close NwN and start it again to fix it.

(Unlikely to be the same issue as the halflings since speedys do not use any of the .hak content.)

Okay, I had some time to test. Here's what I did:

1. Started NWN:EE through steam.
2. Went to the Fickle Finger (have graphical issues here). Floor drew okay. IMAGE
3. Found a hin in the Nomad (Thanks, Pluviofile!). She drew okay. IMAGE
4. Walked through the Nomad, to the outskirts, and to the server transition to surface. Transitioned.
5. Immediately transitioned back (after retyping acct name and selecting character as per recent issue.)
6. Walked through the nomad. She was invisible. IMAGE
7. Walked to the Fickle Finger. Floor was black/invisible. IMAGE
8. Closed game. Relaunched via steam. Invisible things visible. no graphical bugs.

I have a variety of mods through the workshop attached. I am removing them now, and will test again with no mods.

EDIT:
I removed all workshop mods, ensured my override folders were empty, and did the following:
1. Started NWN:EE through steam
2. Went to the fickle finger. Floor showed fine.
3. Went to the shop next to the Lilting Lotus, where there's a speedy. Speedy was fine.
4. Ran to swamp/surface transition. Transitioned.
5. Came back. Went to the finger. Floor was fine.
6. Went to the speedy office near the lotus. Speedy drew fine.
7. Stalked the earlier hin, ffrom above. She was fine.
8. Noticed that my "Iceberg" icon had blacked out (No icon, but still had number of castings left)
9. Closed game. Reopened game from Steam. Icon fine.

Noted. The mods I had were all workshop GUI mods. I will text more extensively over the next couple days while running with no mods.

I have not yet experienced this bug on my end, but my halfling Character on Skaljard has had only one instance of people not being able to see her. Given the limited server hopping on Skal it does seem to be suspiciously similar to the hak content bug.

One thing I HAVE noticed however, is that critters that should be getting sneak attacks against me, aren't. Notably Xvart of various kinds, and Goblin Runts. The only time they get sneak attacks is if they initiate combat, once I am fighting no more sneaks. I am wondering if something (perhaps something hak related given the reloging/restarting invis thing) inadvertently changed halflings in a recent update and these two are related to that.

We are working on a solution. It has to do with how server-transitions handle Hak content. Hopefully Beamdog resolves stuff on their side too.

Unsure if mentioned elsewhere but custom spell icons are affected by this as well

I, for one, wholeheartedly support this most recent decision to phase halflings out of the module.
