In the area Underdark (Andunor) Greyport (Buildings), there's some shops that have their signs outside the little quarters. They are separate. However, the sign outside in the Greyport area is reflective of the quarter, not the shop, so all it does is tell you who lives inside.

Since the shop signs are not inside the quarters, this seems like an oversight - that either the shop signs were meant to be inside the quarter, or the outside sign is meant to be reflecdtive of the name of the shop sign instead.

So after further poking around, it turns out the room upstairs from each of these shop-house-weirdnesses is tied to the shop sign downstairs, NOT the quarter sign downstairs. This room has no chest or, ultimately, any actual value whatsoever, and means whoever owns that shop is technically violating quarter rules if they have a real quarter with a chest somewhere else. They can't even be used for sekrit meetings as the drow interior tileset has horrific LoS/overhearing problems.

These really seem to have been designed with the shopfront being owned by the person who owns the upstairs bedroom AND the downstairs workroom in mind, all one piece. Am I missing something here, because their setup is perplexing.

edit: ... this also means the upstairs room doesnt have a sign you can make keys from, assign a faction to, change the locks/traps...

so yeah actually this is definitely a series of oversights lmao

why are all of the shop signs also 2 day timers? and not inside their respective shop-rooms? and why are their bedrooms tied to the shop signs?

The upstairs door assignment, shop timer duration, exterior sign association have been fixed. Shop signs have been moved inside the lower quarter rooms.
