It doesn't work with the error message: "Must be a cast on a slashing weapon".

As it works on quarterstaves so I guess it should work on all weapons? Naginata is also a slash/bludg weapon.

Just came across this bug. I think the weapon types (wakazashi included) needs to just be added to the valid weapon target list.

Casting blade thirst on a variety of weapons (quarterstaff, handaxe etc) with my Level 17 PC (who is Ranger 9 / other classes 8) I *only* end up with Enhancement Bonus +2 (temporary) and On Hit Unique Power (lvl9) vampiric Regen.

Is this working as intended or should this be Enhancement +3 as a Lvl 17 PC ?

Blade Thirst: Not restricted. Duration increased to 2 Turn / Level. Enhancement Bonus has been changed to 2 + 1 / 5 levels beyond the 11th (i.e. +2 at level 11, +3 at level 16, +4 at level 21, +5 at level 26). Additionally, when the enchanted weapon is wielded by a character with ranger levels, it grants an equivalent amount of regeneration upon every hit. Also, their weapon type restriction was removed - Blade Thirst may be casted on any kind of melee weapon. [ Copied from Arelith wiki ]

It's working as intended. +3 at level 16 refers to caster level, which means your ranger level, and not your overall PC level.
Because your ranger is only level 9, hence, it's only + 2 because the enhancement bonus for +3 starts from 11th Ranger level + 5.

thanks, it's clear, not confusing; I probably unconsciously hoped that "caster" level was not a missing word.

Can confirm. Casting Bladethirst from a scroll also gave the "must be slashing weapon" as well.
