Werecat at the ratcatcher in Skal?

Hullo!

So yeah, character fresh off the boat. No enchanted weapon. Very first quest.

Aaaaaaand you're dead (werecat down the ladder).

The very first quest of the game shouldn't be able to put a game-over "flee or die" monster, it's just a turn off with no counterplay for new players. New players won't have the reflex to leave or will just panic (which is what happened to my companion).

Note that "Skal not being for new player" doesn't change the fact that putting a monster with massive +1 DR is unbalanced for a level 3 quest.

I think we are using the nwn default creature there. I'll replace it.

Ran into it as well. Slapped +1 magic weapon scroll on my sword, had cat for dinner.

Bad boss. It's a boss that inflicts lychanthropy while being tanky for the level.

Appreciate the fix that's coming for it.

Challenge wise its fine, but it's actsully really immersion breaking to have a respawning were creature resident. "I just barely escaped with my life! A were cat" season adventurers; "oh you found our pet kitten, glad he didn't die this time.
