Set trap and Craft trap ?

Crafting traps uses the best of either so is there a point on having both for thous of us that took both? Is this a temporary thing or is craft trap going away entirely ?

It would honestly be great if using traps wasn't a full investment in two different skills, to be real. Set trap doing it all is great. Real A+ work.
(wait, three. Disable. That's not a full investment, though.)

that dose not read well so let me try again.
Is the current situation where if you want to make a trap yourself you roll the best of Craft trap or set trap going to stay ?

I think someone said that it was going to be fixed, that it was temporary.

Very excited to have set trap and craft trap combined.
Unless it already is. Then I'm no longer excited, and am just happy.

Set Trap currently does both.
This may change in future.

Oh. When/if it changes will we need to build with an extra 33 skillpoints in mind?
I thought it was the other way around, completely, and that we were combining the two to avoid needing more skillpoints.

I can't make promises but I will try to avoid screwing over anyone who didn't invest in craft trap. Ideally we will make room for trap crafting another way.
Also, using disable trap to recover traps is better now anyway, as you can't craft epic traps.

Maybe craft trap could finally be used for artificery gadget stuff instead.

This is great news as I am planning to make a character proficient in traps and really didn't want to spend 60+ skill points for just the occasional trap setting.

I am fully invested in both (well at least in skill points i did not get any feats to boost them) if craft trap goes away it would be nice to get thous points beck or at least get them put into craft mastery automatically

In the past when craft armor/wep were merged into craft mastery, a script was introduced that automatically gave anyone with points in either a relevel, so I wouldn't worry about wasted points.

Decided to roll the dice and just started a new character with only Set Trap and no room for Craft Trap - glad to hear he won't be hung out to dry! Definitely seems like eliminating Craft Trap is a good move to reduce skill bloat. Looking forward to more trap stuff in the future.
