Description of Bug Experienced:
Casting Blade thirst from scroll, wand or spellbook while holding a weapon of the type wizards staff does not trigger the spell, instead reporting "spell failed - Target must be a melee weapon or creature with melee weapon equipped"



Steps to reproduce the Bug:
1.) hold a wizards staff
2.) cast blade thirst on character

Expected Result:
spell enhances the staff with EB and - if ranger - onhit-property

Actual Result:
"spell failed - Target must be a melee weapon or creature with melee weapon equipped"

Magic-Staff is not a weapon.

How is it not? Is there any indication that it would not be?

It is clearly listed under "melee weapons", is deliberately added to Areliths custom weapon classes as 1-handed concussion weapon and we even have a variant that has ON-HIT properties.

Sorry. I would like to know why this is not a weapon as well.

Not a bug. This is done to prevent interaction with dragon shape.
