Grey Hammer Guards Update.

So Greyhammer was founded originally to be a Outpost of Fort Bendir. As it stands right now the town is protected by a bunch of Generic Gnome and Halfling Fighters. With very Silly Spiked Great Helms.
I think it would make more sense and be more within our collective story to change these generic Fighters in the area to Hawk'in.

Yup. That's why 1/3 of it is a drinking establishment.
Ragtag guards make sense. They're more like bouncers than police.

The Historical books I found in Greyhammer Stated while the original Bar was There it had become a Outpost of Bendir Founded By Mayor Andy. I can cite the books if you'd like.

So!
Greyhammer was Founded by Mayor Andriarna, her husband at the time (one of them cant remember which) and a half orc named Gragor
Gragor was a Tempurian hence why there's a altar to Tempus there. And the Bar there was originally a player-run bar that finally settled, the catch was that it had to be open, hence no Roof / actual tavern.
This is all from IG / Lore sources.
Though the guards are not ragtag or Bouncers
They are Earthkin Soldiers, which makes sense as their main "post" is one zone away. Though they could probably be due to get changed into the more interesting earthkin Army outfits the EA guards have.
