Server Cap 100/100

Another controversial one,

Cap the servers to 100 players maximum anything more than this the NWN engine seems to degrade exponentially.

of course i dont want this but i think its for the best.

The actual player amount isn't exactly what's effecting lag. It's when there's a certain amount of activity within a particular area that triggers lag across the server.

Sure, we could cap the server to 100. It may help a bit with the lag but it'll still feel as bad. We're only going to get diminishing returns if we continue to decrease the server size. As the real lag starts when you have 40+ people in one area having conversations.

I've been looking at some code and recently found out that one of our core systems is pretty unoptimized. Hopefully, after optimizing it (which is no small task), that should sort out the root of the issue.

Lag is a difficult beast to deal with as always.

Rejected on the size reduction of the servers.

We can optimize performance through other methods without locking players out of travel and roleplay.
