Can no longer buy stew from Karl

Karl in the Logjam (Guldorand logging camp) used to sell Food Rations as well as an item called "Bowl of Karl's Stew" (or something similar).
Now he simply sells two different but identical Food Rations. Since I'm sure we could not possibly be being deprived of Karl's lovely stew on purpose I am forced to conclude this is a bug!
My character had previously stocked up on stew, but he's hungry and not eager to return to eating rations.
