Adventure xp and -teach

Now that -teach exists, I have a reason to accumulate adventure xp on my bard.

.. however, it's also constantly going down as I spend hours roleplaying and I'm never able to teach people any songs. I think the -teach function would be better served if there was a way to toggle adventure xp ticks on and off, to conserve your axp.

You can toggle earning adventure XP and normal XP with -adventure when you grind. Helps you build a pool of adventure XP.

This is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about a way to stop adventure xp (which I have gained using -adventure) from ticking away into my "regular" xp pool, so I can conserve xp even if I'm spending all day roleplaying and have some xp on hand to teach songs if I want to.

No you can't.

Unless you get to the XP limit then you don't gain anything per tick.

It is something I am noticing also on my bard. Fortunately I have some 70k+ pooled and I can craft, so I have that wiggle room.

That said, I think that the system is cumbersome. It would probably be better to have teach work in the same way crafting does, i.e. lose 1000 direct xp and then put 1000 xp in the adventure pool.

Alternatively give us ways to more easily accrue adventure xp.

Right now the only one I can think of is: craft some stuff (so that I can gain xp again) → turn on adventure mode → go kill some stuff → profit

However this is easily available only to bards who get one of the crafting feats. And also, well, it costs quite a bit of money, which may take a while to return, especially without a shop or something like that.

I agree, this would be super useful. It would also be useful for people who want to play the game, aren't gathering XP via other means, and don't want to out-level their friends. The adventure XP coming in from ticks really adds up over time!

A small update. I just checked this yesterday, but once you hit the xp limit, you can still gain adventure xp in the regular ways.

And that includes also adventure mode.

If you kill enemies in adventure mode you still receive half their xp value in adventure xp, and that builds up pretty nicely in the right grinding areas. And getting invited to parties there as a max level bard tends to be rather easy, given you turn the grind into a much easier experience.

A command Bards can use to teach Bard Songs they have to other Bards.

Songs are found either through exploration ingame or from being taught by other Bards.
