Gold disappears, no trade window, doesn't drop on the ground.

Easily repeatable, did the same thing with another 10422GP to confirm.

Testing with an item shortly.

The chair of doom only likes to eat gold. I've confiscated the chair for evidence.

Further testing reveals that the gold drops to the ground, sometimes.
