Beleaguered Lumberjacks

Hullo!
Trying to even attempt this writ at level 15 as a non-caster is just mental. Entering the spriggan cave my first encounter included four npcs, including I think two redcaps, which seemed incredibly strong for a writ of this level. These mobs have an AB of 32 and fairly high crit range (17-20) whilst two-handing a sword (?katana), meaning I was turned to paste almost immediately, even with my AC in the high 30s. I appreciate writs should be a challenge, but any chance of this being toned down a little? Or at least a reduction in spawn group size for mid-teens characters?
The guidance for this writ is 12-20.

Wait, what? Really? 12-20? Yikes.
That dungeon is absolutely brutal since the rework. I wasn't able to tackle it solo until early-mid epics. It may not be very long, but each spawn hits like a Mack truck.

I've made posts about this in the writ feedback thread too. It's really, really rough. Even on a conjuration caster. The long hallway entry is difficult, things can spawn on top of you at the door. And things from the side areas can see you and target you while you are still trying to deal with the first group on the bridge.

Its a very tough dungeon. The combination of Storm of vengeance with high damage stealthers who fly down on your head and have crit immunity on top... it's all just a lot to handle for a character, or even two characters sub lvl 20. Every once in a while when I do go to that place with a large party, it is fun and the exp is juicy.. so I dont really know what to fix here. Just my experience.

Surprised this is the first feedback on this dungeon. I remember walking into it thinking it was somehow similar to the UD version (and it possibly may connect but I could never get that far). I got obliterated on the bridge even when having about 37-38AC and improved invisibility.
Is the XP massive per kill? If it was, I'm not sure if there needs to be a change to the dungeon rather than just the writ being removed from the list.

I already brought this up with the team. 12-20 is a huge range and it is really not feasible at level 12 on most builds without cheese.

Great, good to know thanks!

I mean, also many shadowplane writs are not feasible at level 16, when they become available.
I tend to see the highest level of the writ as the proper level to complete it, and the lowest as the first level you can attempt it, or tag along with others to complete it.
That said, 8 levels is a huge gap, it probably makes sense to raise the lower limit a little, even just to 14-15. Probably a range similar to the spriggan dungeon in the Underdark, which has the same mobs if I recall correctly, would make much more sense.

I l ike big gap writs as it allows easier large parties. But its a problem if its an epic tier writ.

I mean, the writ only requires to kill 5 (?) of them? That's just poking your nose in really, and you don't have to go to the end. But yeah, these guys are scary.
