So, I sometimes need a DM on the spot and hit on my Badge and be like "They'll notice me eventually".

Then a few days later "DMSmecky: Yo can I help?"

At that point I completely forgotten the badge is on.

Maybe Badges could automatically turn off after 12 hours?

We've suggested this to Hoodoo ourselves. He's just weird and enjoys the suffering of our constant reminders.

But we will bring awareness of this thread to him.

I think the larger issue is that it can take multiple days to get a response. My record is five days.

That is alright, DMs get to things at their own times, they put effort into it out of their own goodwill and free time. I don't think it's right to push for a rush with those things, considering the sheer size of the server and the amount of players daily. They might be even still debating the response or there might be a lot of players to get back to and only one DM around those days.

In my experience on NWN, that is somewhere in the middle ground. Sometimes you get a response instantly or within hours, while on servers with a bigger population sometimes it might take from 2 weeks to a month and this be accepted as the norm.

I remember I was surprised when I sent in something that required DM oversight and they replied only in a few days, instead of in a couple weeks. It was quite a pleasant surprise.

Consider it a memory excercise! No but serioisly, can always also mark it up in character notes, notepad or otherwise.
