Snakefang dagger does literally nothing.

so, i recently found this dagger:
and, well, when i used it's poison weapon 1/day, i expected it to work on... anything. i tried targetting:
the dagger itself
my other dagger that was in my inventory
then the other dagger when i put it on
an empty bronze dagger that was also in my inventory, and again when i put it in my offhand with snakefang in my mainhand
a bundle of damask arrows that was in my inventory, and then again when i put it in my ammo slot
same with a bundle of bronze arrows.
i suspect it's a bug? it just says "nothing happens" every time. i also tried somehow "filling" it with poison by targetting the dagger with eyeblast (which just ended up with me coating the dagger with poison) and by targetting the eyeblast with dagger's poison weapon 1/day ability, which just failed.
