Accursed Chains Feedback request

This isn't open to only hexblades, but I would definitely love to hear from people who have actually made/obtained the armor.
1. Did the requirement of Chainmail of the Holy Knight generate interesting rp? If no, why not? If yes, would you like to see more items in the future that require something from the "opposing side?" (Not necessarily just for hexblades)
2. Does the armor being strong while preventing certain build options with its drawback (no divine shield) allow for more interesting build options? If no, why not? If yes, would you like to see more items in the future that are strong in one regard but have unique drawbacks?

Toss up on this one.
I think it's cool specifically, generally though I am leary of builds being dependent upon gear; especially "harder than a moonblade" RP wise (since you don't need a good elf to make one).
Too be honest, I have no experience on this matter.

If you think of the armor set as tiers, the Accursed Chains are such a huge improvement over Adamantine Scale Armor, and also so hard to get for most Hexblades, that I think another tier could be added between Adamantine and Accursed Chains to make the progress a little more smooth. Something like a +4 scale armor with at least -10% arcane spell failure to allow spell casting would be a really fine addition to fill the gap. It doesn't even need to be restricted for Hexblades because scale armor, or breastplate armor if you want to call it that, has very few armor options when you compare it to other armor types.
About the paladin chain as requirement, I haven't got it yet, but I plan on having my own Hexblade craft it with the Loremaster Artisan secret, so I'm afraid I don't think it will generate any unique rp for me.

Just created a hex with the 14 award and looking forward to the challenge of getting the armor. I had planned on using it for "every day" walking around type stuff since it maintains a higher base AC than greensteel and divine shield. I think, just for that QoL higher always-on AC, it's a great item to have and work towards.

I know of ONE hex that managed to get it, and it was mostly due to them sneakily using less sketchy intermediaries to purchase the base armor

Personally, I think its a pretty fun thing. Sure, Its abit more difficult to get this armor but there are ways to get around it of course.

i'd say it is the strongest armor in the game probably. The way to get it is fair also. The only issue is it is end end game stuff. The armor is tailored around not having divine shield and you wanting to be a hex caster.
I agree with Red_Wharf that an in between armor might be needed as the current progression is Green steel > Chains.

Technically Elven Chain Armor is the middle stop stats-wise, except that it too requires mithril dust x2 so its a pretty not worth middle stop.

I'm personally uncertain how attaining the holy chainmail is a challenge, since I have seen them in shops around the island for anyone to buy. I'm sure there are plenty of people who play it the cool way, but there will be others who just nab one and call it a day.
Maybe I'm missing something?
edit add on:
Also, I have to ask if its even worth it to ditch the +8-12 ac from divine shield for what amounts to +3 ac over an elven chain (also surprisingly easy to attain).

It depends on your build.
If you are focused on melee with spells as a backup it worth it. It also opens options for other builds that aren't divine dip.

So I’ve made many suits of Accursed and every time it was generally a fun RP experience for both my crafter when I was making them for others as well as for my hex blades when they were getting it made.
I like it in its current state.
