Was given ownership of a guild, was adjusting some things with in the guild. Promoted someone to captain thinking I would keep ownership because it wasn't the highest listed rank. Doing that took away ownership of the guild from me and the person promoted captain didn't have ownership of the guild either. Asked a DM and they told me to make a report about it.

I don't quite follow this, factions and ranks have no relation to property ownership. Did you physically release the quarter via the sign?

I don't think he's talking about a property. It sounds like he's talking about the faction itself.

Yes, faction ownership, not property. Oh faction leader gave leadership to someone because they weren't getting on that character. They we decided to give it to me. It was set up a bit weirdly, ranks and permissions were all wrong. I say, hey if I mess something up with permissions it'd be good to have someone that also has them so I make someone a high rank assuming they'd have access to changes and I'd still have ownership because I didn't set them to the Owner role in the ranks. When I did this it removed my ownership access of the faction, and the person I ranked to captain didn't have any permissions either because it wasn't properly set up. So now I need ownership of the faction back to try to clean up the ranks and all that.

You could just make a new one, change the name slightly, set the permissions as you would like them.

I mean if I can get it changed back easily I'd rather to that then have me and 7 members leave factions and trying to track them all down and telling them to reinvite everyone because some of us play and different times. would just save me a bit of work, but if I have to I will. Just depends on if someone can quickly fix it or not.

Unfortunately this isn't an area I can help with, as I know very little about the faction system. Hopefully a developer that is more familiar will take a look.
