Something that happened mid gameplay once, so sorry for no template.

So I was in a very weird situation. Four people chatting, including me.
Person A has full cover and disguise. To me, all I see is "Elf", but I can't break it.
Person B and C, however, break it to see "Drow". (confirmed post RP moment)
End up having a heated conversation, obviously, Person A ends up removing their helm to break cover. Reveal they're not Drow, but X Elf. (don't want to leak too many details)
After everything, check in with A, they confirm they were not mimicing subrace.

Now I know that there could be miscomm or lies going on in OOC, but this honestly not a first time similar thing has happened with disguise system. Another folk had logged in into one disguise, but another person momentarily spotted them as another set of disguise, and that also caused quite a bit of awkward RP to sort out through. Maybe that could get checked over, maybe with folk knowing how to test this more properly (wouldn't be surprised if server resets are involved into this too, as one was not that long ago).

If I'm understanding the report correctly, this isn't a bug. There is a Bluff feature that lets you disguise as a different subrace of the same type.

It's hard to tell if this is a bug or not. It's possible to mimic a subrace, but if they are saying they aren't then it gets more complicated.

I think that certain disguise elements can be remembered by the system. If that person had mimicked a drow in the past, but not in this case, they still may have been in 'mimic mode' even if they had not enabled it this time around and all it took to reactivate it was slapping on a helmet and using -disguise again.

Recently I had a similar experience, albeit with my alternate disguise examine profile, where I used a disguise name totally made up on the spot but the system still pulled my pre-made disguise profile from the totally different name I had it saved under - something I didn't think was possible.

Maybe it's possible something fiddly happened when disguise checks were bumped to 10 minutes?
